Beatrice Lam is a business manager at VTL.
She has been an ardent music listener all her life and an
avid audiophile for many years before her association with
VTL. Married to Luke since 1994, Bea is currently taking an
active role in shaping the VTL product and marketing strategy,
turning her love for music and high-end audio into a savvy
approach towards broadening the customer base for high-end
vacuum tube home stereo electronics.
With over 16 years of software industry experience
at Hewlett Packard and other companies in the Silicon Valley
area, Bea has also played the role of a software developer,
architect, and project manager for numerous software development
projects. During her thirteen years at Hewlett-Packard, she
developed (and managed the development of) several award-winning
PC software products including NewWave, a graphical, object-oriented
desktop environment, and Dashboard for Windows, a Program
Manager Shell. Her recent projects involved leading a development
team to deliver an object-oriented enterprise system for a
shipping company, and being the architect and user interface
designer for a Fortune 500 company's Sales Automation system.
Bea's professional interests span a wide
spectrum of diverse areas, ranging from defining customer-focused
product strategy, usability and user interface design, to
managing development process, and building high performance
teams.
For Bea and Luke, music is an integral part
of their lives, whether it's attending live performances of
the San Francisco Opera, the San Francisco Symphony, a night
out at Yoshi's, music night at home with friends and Bea's
Steinway grand piano, or at home listening to their favorite
recordings. They believe that the joy and beauty expressed
through music is the most direct way to substantially better
the lives of people in this world in the wholesome pursuit
of spiritual relaxation. Through VTL, they are fulfilling
their mission in life of making the best home stereo equipment
that brings the excitement and emotion of music as close to
the live experience as possible.
