New TL-7.5 Series II Available Now

Recent engineering breakthroughs have resulted in a major upgrade to one of VTL’s most important products - the TL-7.5 Reference Line Preamplifier. Four years after introducing the TL-7.5 to universal acclaim, VTL has revised it for an even higher level of performance. The new design, known as the TL-7.5 Series II, adapts current gain technology developed for the new TP-6.5 Signature Phono Stage. The upgrade results in a lower overall gain (20dB-balanced, 14dB single ended), as well as a dramatically lower noise floor. Luke Manley, President of VTL, credits the improvements to intensive ongoing R&D at the company. “While working on the forthcoming TP-6.5 phono stage, we developed a high current circuit to resolve with very low background noise the small distances that a phono cartridge travels, and we have applied this thinking to the TL-7.5 Series II.” The new circuit delivers even wider frequency response as well as superior musicality and transparency, while maintaining the neutrality that the TL-7.5 Reference Line Stage is famous for. Also included in the upgrade are new parts selected to enhance the resolution with even more speed and presence in the critical top end and midrange. For increased compatibility with modern home theater systems, the Series II adds a fully bi-directional RS-232 control.

Please contact VTL for the nearest dealer to audition the TL7.5 Series II.  TL7.5 owners can also contact VTL for more details on the upgrade program available to 7.5 Series I units. top

Luxurious New Look for VTL Amplifiers

The sleek, modern, cosmetics of VTL’s latest flagship products, such as the Siegfried amplifier and the TL7.5 Reference Preamplifier, purposefully reflect the highly advanced audio technology on the inside. The Critics Have Spoken: The S-400 is a "Stunning Achievement"

That is how Stereophile reviewer Brian Damkroger summed up the S-400 Reference Amplifier in the December 2005 issue. He noted how the S-400’s incredible neutrality, clarity and transparency set it apart from other amplifiers, remarking that it came “closer to fulfilling the promise of recorded and reproduced performances than I’d ever heard before.” While the many technical and diagnostic features of the S-400 duly impressed Damkroger, it was the sonic magic that provoked his most ardent sentiments. Ultimately, he recommends that those seeking a “technological tour de force,” a sonic “home run,” and “a benchmark in tube amplifier design,” should go find an S-400, listen to it, and prepare to own it. Contact VTL and we’ll point you to a nearby dealer’s showroom where you can experience it for yourself.

A Legend in the Making: First Siegfried Reviews Are Here

The first reviews of VTL's new Siegfried 800 Watt Reference monoblock amplifiers have appeared and they confirm the buzz that has been spreading throughout the audio world-that Siegfried stands triumphant at the pinnacle of amplifier performance. In the January 2004 issue of the Italian magazine Audio Review, reviewer Marco Benedetti enthuses that "I would hug [Luke Manley] for showing the world what the best amplifier ever can do, for having made me feel these emotions listening to a record." He goes on to claim unequivocally, "I have never, ever, listened to something that would nearly get close to this level of realism." In summing up, Benedetti states that Siegfried has "redefined the top quality standards of high-end amplification. The Siegfried play in a league of their own." In recognition of this achievement, Audio Review has awarded to Siegfried its prestigious Accademia dell'Audio award.

Also singing the praises of Siegfried is Peter Moncrieff, editor of the International Audio Review newsletter. In the April 2004 issue, he says, "The VTL Siegfried is the first high power amp to truly vanish, bringing you directly in touch with your music." After elucidating nine different areas of sonic excellence, Moncrieff concludes, "All these sonic achievements add up to an overwhelming musical experience from Siegfried, an experience that you can instantly recognize as something you have not heard from other amplifiers, and an experience that leaves a lasting impression."

TL7.5 Preamplifier Wins Stereophile 'Product of the Year' Award

Hailing it as "The Ultimate Preamp," Stereophile named VTL's TL-7.5 Reference Preamplifier "Product of the Year" for amplification components in its December 2003 issue. In an earlier issue (October 2003), reviewer Paul Bolin was so impressed by the two-chassis unit that he found “nothing to rationally criticize...It is, by no small margin, the finest line stage I have ever heard at length." From resolving the subtlest information to communicating the full scope of music's dynamic range, the TL-7.5 possesses a package of sonic attributes that Bolin called, "a new kind of audio experience." In the technical measurements section of the review, editor John Atkinson remarked that the TL-7.5 "demonstrates virtually bombproof measured performance"--a testament to the advanced engineering reflected in VTL's newest Reference products. top

The VTL TL7.5 Reference Preamplifier -- Golden Ear 2002 Award

VTL’s all new TL7.5 Reference Line Preamplifier received the Golden Ear 2002 Award from reviewer Arthur S. Pfeffer in the Dec./Jan 2003 issue of the Absolute Sound Magazine.  An in-depth review of the TL7.5 preamplifier also appeared in the same issue.  ASP summarized the TL7.5 as “… The unconventional two-chassis engineering results in tube-like sweetness, effortless dynamics, and a brightly illuminated soundstage.  The 7.5 has the subtlety to handle chamber music and the dynamic clout for heavy rock and heavy Wagner.”
